We
stumbled upon the band’s name 'M4TRIX'
as we tried to plan how the tunes, harmonies, accompaniment and
dynamics might vary throughout each track. We ended up with lots
of
bits of paper with arrangement notes in a kind of grid form - hence
the name.
Thanks should go to Keanu Reeves for his invaluable
marketing assistance.
The Album 'gaps'
The
album title ‘gaps’ refers
to the many types of gap associated with the band and this album.
Some
examples … the gap between the two recordings, the gaps in the arrangement of tunes, the
gap between London (RM) and Milton Keynes
(PB, CJ, SM), the gaps in ages of the band
(from 20-something to 40-something!).
We're sure there are others.
